Our members are the reporters, anchors, photographers, editors, graphic artists, and technicians who help deliver local, national and international news to viewers each day. Our local is also a member of the Global Advisory Council comprised of all unionized locals within the traditional broadcast sector of Canwest Media. M1 Winnipeg was certified on August 16, 1978 as NABET Local 821. The Canadian arm of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians merged with the larger Canadian union, the Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union in 1994. |

December 19, 2011- The Media One Board is preparing to meet in Calgary from January 13-15, 2012 in Calgary. Being the first M1 Board meeting of the year , executive elections will take place. The positions open for election are President and Treasurer. Nomination forms are available here. Unit President Bill Nazer will be attending as M1 Vice President Unit Treasurer Howard Baran will be attending as the M1 Winnipeg Delegate.
