23.1 The Company agrees it will not assign duties normally performed by members of the Bargaining Unit to non-bargaining unit personnel to the extent the same would result in the lay-off of a member of the bargaining unit, or result in a failure to recall an employee (who holds re-engagement rights under Article 21) from lay-off. A number of Local 821M members have approached the executive in the past couple of weeks with reports of non-bargaining unit personnel doing bargaining unit work. Your executive has brought these concerns to management and they have stated that it is their intent to follow the collective agreement. A full list of bargaining unit jobs can be found in the Our language states that duties will not be assigned to personnel not on this list. Your union is committed to protecting your work and has been working with legal counsel regarding this issue. Please contact your local executive if you have any questions or concerns about bargaining unit work. |
