Our local is also a member of the Global Advisory Council comprised of all  unionized locals within the traditional broadcast sector of Canwest Media.



M1 Winnipeg was certified on August 16, 1978 as NABET Local 821. The Canadian arm of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians merged with the larger Canadian union, the Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union in 1994.
